Interns in the recruitment department will work with SA Works in placing candidates in suitable work placement programmes. This involves a range of duties including all aspects of recruitment on an international level.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Screening  and selection of candidates
  • Interview and profile candidates
  • Preparing CV’s for client submission
  • Advertising vacancies
  • Liaising with candidates to ensure their successful integration onto the programme
  • Conducting Reference checks
  • Establish and maintain  relationships with clients through continuous contact throughout all stages of the application process
  • Respond to queries
  • All related administration tasks
  • Meeting key performance indicators relevant to candidate calls
  • Visa/ Permit control and monitoring of all candidates

Psychology:

Interns working in the psychological counselling department  will be working closely with youth coming from a range of very challenging backgrounds. Psychologists work together with social workers in doing their utmost to ensure that the clients well being are taken care of.

  • Run inter active workshops individual and in groups to facilitate client communication
  • Engage clients by communicating  particular issues that need to be addressed or that the client wishes to explore.

Sound Engineering:

Internship in South Africa

The Sound Engineering internship focuses on recording and production of CD’s of a range of local South African up coming artists. Applicants with a background in electrical engineering, acoustics or Fine Arts are more than welcome to apply for this position. 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Separating and combining sounds according to the stages of production
  • Undertaking and altering  sound recordings through the use of recording and editing equipment and other  recording media.
  • Synchronising sound effects with  pre recorded action visual and audio
  • Organisation of microphone set up in preparation for recordings
  • Altering sound effects for live performances of pre recorded events.
  • Regulation of sound settings using standardised equipment

Assistant Teachers/ Educators

Internship in South Africa

Will assist students in apprehending the subject matter communicated to the students in the various school taught subjects. The educator will be involved in a team based study environment to ensure that the students play an active role in their learning process.

Social Work

Typically, a social worker recruited by SA Works would be involved in assisting youth who have undergone traumatic experiences relevant to  abandonment, abuse, drug misuse and a range of life challenges. The Social worker will thus offer support  in terms of assisting these adolescents in making efforts to lead an independent lifestyle  and function fully within society.




Task and Responsibilities
Support will be offered in various ways depending on the clients needs and may include the following:

  • Aiding individuals who  are mentally challenged [experience learning difficulties] or are disabled.
  • Rehabilitation
  • Assisting children to ensure that they feel cared for as well as offering support to enable them to perform better with regard to education.
  • Reinforcing teenagers with negatively challenging behaviour to adjust such mannerisms into something positive.
  • Working as part of a team of social workers (trained and registered) to assist troubled youth help themselves by encouraging them to keep control of their well being through active participation in the decision making process of these youth.
